East Capital Real Estate is launching an extensive reconstruction of the Tsentraal Shopping Centre in Jõhvi city in north-eastern Estonia, with the aim of giving a new and modern look to the shopping center located in the city's main square.

The construction work will last for 3 years and the renovation will cost approximately EUR 2.5 million. In the first stage, an outdoor area and the home furnishings store JYSK will be built, which are set to open this autumn. By the end of the year, the facade of the building will be completed with new lighting. In the first half of next year, the construction work on Jõhvi’s Central Square will begin, during which the square will become car-free. In addition, the square will receive new covering and movable benches, which will make the heart of Jõhvi a pleasant and attractive place for both tourists and locals. During next year, the centre’s entrances and public areas will be refurbished, and a gym and modern offices will be completed. In the final stage, in 2024, an office hotel, conference rooms, guest apartments and saunas will be added to the centre. Rimi Supermarket will continue to operate in the building.

‘The updated centre and its outstanding exterior will create a harmonious and beautiful unity with the city square. The ground floor of the building will house mainly shops and services, the second floor will be shared by shops and offices, and the third floor will house a conference centre, office hotel, guest apartments and additional services, such as a gym and a small SPA’, says Anneli Mänd, Regional Manager for the Ida-Viru region at East Capital Real Estate.
